Thursday 13-Loving Authors
Thank goodness Amanda always does this because I can never remember. By Thursday, there is just not much left upstairs.
In order to spread the love to the authors who are not raging against the machine, I dedicate this to you. The thirteen authors currently close to my heart and why:
*Note: authors are not numbered by preference, simply by memory.*
13. Diana Peterfreund (because I want to win the ARC contest!)
See post on ARCs.
12. Maya Angelou (what list of influential and loveable authors is complete without you?)
11. Chaucer (oh, the inspiration...and months and months and months of memorization)
10. Mark Winegardner (the college professor from hell...but all the tears were worth it)
9. Irene Gut Opdyke (for the perspective)
8. Jill Shavis (if she can make homemade mouse and frog stories funny...just imagine what is in those books!)
7. Walter Dean Myers (you have given quality fiction to young black students. God bless you.)
6. Julia Quinn (for giving me the Bridgertons)
5. Kate Rothwell (simply because you are smart and sassy)
4. Meg Cabot (because she knows how to smite-you-down with a pen)
3. Megan Frampton (because she talks to me...andusually sometimes agrees!)
2. Judith McNaught (you gave me Perfect)
1. Johanna Lindsey (because you, and only you, got me through "the year from hell")

10 touched me
I'm such a nosy bitch - what was the year from hell?
I like JL too - but I don't buy her books, I wait for them to come to the library.
Thanks for the inclusion! Although I might have to disagree that Maya Angelou is "loveable."
Kate is SO smart and sassy, though.
Megan? But Maya looks like a big, cuddly teddy bear! How can you not think her loveable? I love her voice and I love her stories. I have an author interview video of her here at school and everytime she tells stories I get lost. It has endeared her to me I guess you can say.
Ames, nosy-ness is always welcomed.
The year from hell contained the following:
-The professor from hell
-Gallbladder surgery
-A degree that didn't come with a job
-A 2 year engagement break-up
-The great computer crash
-Debt collection
-Two crowns and 5 fillings
-A fire
-And a death
The only thing that got me through was losing myself in Lindsey's books.

--sniff--
Our first fight!
She is a tough bird, I think (no, not a caged bird. A tough bird).
That is the year from hell.
Thanks for sharing, you incredibly strong woman you. :)
*passing Megan the tissues*
LOL Ames! What doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

Okay, so we definitely agree on Nietzsche, right?
"That which does not kill us makes us stronger" is the sentiment by which I live my life.
Yes, and Plato is boring.
Hey Megan, Maya Angelou is going to be in attendance at Oprah's Legends Ball...to be aired on ABC Monday night 8/7c.
...Fi
awwww, thanks.
My favorite part of this post is that you put my name next to the picture of the elegant Julia Quinn.
That alone would put you on my list, but then there's the "feel me up" for comments.
Woof!
LOL Kate...I do strive to please!
